Coming home

After a long ride with some hippies, surfers, a just married couple and a family the hitchhiking was over. He was only a mile separate from his school he could still turn around but he knew he had to do it. Brendan just walk, with every step the temptation to turn around grew larger. But he continued not sure what he had to face when he got back. Would he be kicked out? Would there be anybody beside little Aurora who wanted to talk to him? Will they even recognize him?

He had dressed himself a little bit better before the hitchhiking but still he didn’t looked good. His abs were not that visable anymore, he was a lot skinnier than he used to be and his hair had grown a lot and was now hanging against his face.

He finally saw the campus with all the familar buildings and at the end the old school. His feet didn’t want to walk fast to it. Something was holding them back. That something was probably his own mind, thinking about all the horrors that are in that building.

When he finally reached the steps he breathed in heavily and stepped inside, not sure if anyone will recognize him. He slowly walked to his dorm, he was glad that he had a roommate that was never there. He tossed the things he had taken with him on his bed and he steps under the shower.

After a long time he felt clean again and he stepped out and stood in front of the mirror. He still didn’t look much like himself but it was better. He put on some fine clothes to hide all the bruises and skinnines of his body. He finally put on a hat so his eyes were hard to see, if anyone would see his eyes they would probably see his pain.

Afterwhile sitting lonely in his room he stood up and tought ‘I have to face them, it doesn’t matter if it is now, of that it is in a week, it’s still need to happen’ so he stood up and walked to main hall, waiting for someone he knew and especially Lydia and Aurora.
